The bill (Reg. No. 10491), submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers, determines legal grounds for potential participation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a wider spectrum of international operations than it is determined by the current legislation, including as a part of multi-national military formations. In particular, it is planned to change legal basis for operations of subdivisions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine outside its territory.
The bill amends and supplements eleven laws of Ukraine.
Under the bill, the law should be executed within annual budgetary allocations granted to the Ministry of Defense for respective activity.
The majority of Committee members support the bill. They believe that its adoption will extend involvement of Ukraine into international operations and will create legal grounds for further improvement of the mechanism for engaging powers and means of the Armed Forces into international operations both on their own and as a part of multinational military formations.
